Why does Allah(SWT) repeat himself in Verse 3 and 4?
To show the importance of these verses. We are told to pay attention if we missed it the first time.

a. of the certainty
b. Knowledge of Allah(SWT), Quran and Day of Judgement

b. What will people be asked about on the day of judgement?
a. surely you will definately be asked
b. they will be asked about their blessings/comforts and how they used them
What is special about the first 5 ayah of Surah Alaq, where were they revealed + who brought them down?
They were the first revelation that the Prophet(s) received. They were revealed in the cave Hira in the month of Ramadan.
a. Give the word to word: خَلَقَ الْإِنْسَانَ مِنْ عَلَقٍ
b. What are all humans created from?
b. humans were created from a cell/blood clot
Verse 4 - الَّذِي عَلَّمَ بِالْقَلَمِ
Why is the pen important?
The pen is important because it was the first creation
The pen is used to keep knowledge safe (write it down so we don't forget it)
Surah Alaq Verse 5 - Who taught humans everything they know? How?
Allah (swt) taught humans everything they know. We were given ideas because of his mercy and permission. Allah (swt) taught us to write to preserve (keep) our knowledge.
What is the common theme (idea) of the 4 surahs Zilzal, 'Aadiyat,al Qari'ah, now Takathur?
Akhirah(Judgment Day), worldly life, Akhirah(Judgment Day), and worldly life
A. Give the word to word زُرْتُمُ B. When will a person be distracted until? C. Allah (SWT) talks about a group of people that will be distracted. What does it mean to be distracted?
a. You visited
b. Until a person goes to their grave
c. To waste time on something that is not/less important
a. Give the word to word تَعْلَمُونَ
b. Verse 3+4: What will people realize on the day of judgement?
a. you know
b. People will realize how much time they wasted doing useless things in this word (how much time they wasted trying to “succeed” in this life)
a. the true believers will not allow themselves to get distracted

b. Who will see the blazing fire? Why?
a. the hellfire
b. Everyone (both believers and disbelievers). The disbelievers will be shown because they are going there, to prepare them, to scare them. The believers will be shown the blazing fire, to make them grateful for what they have been saved by.
What is the main lesson from Surah Takathur? (hint: How should we use these distractions/blessings?)
We should use our blessings and things that may seem like distractions in order to remember Allah (swt) and get closer to Him. Example: phones, kids, cars
Verse 3 - أْقْرَ وَرَبُّكَ الْأَكْرَمُ What is the first quality the Prophet (saw) learns about Allah (swt)? Explain.
Generosity is the first quality the Prophet (saw) learns about Allah (swt), Allah is generous because he will open the doors of generosity for us through His forgiveness. The more we read His book, the more generous He will be to us.
Verse 3 - أْقْرَ وَرَبُّكَ الْأَكْرَمُ the Prophet (saw) is told to read again, Why were we told to read twice?
The first read tells us to learn and the second one tells us to teach. To show how important it is to read the Quran.
A. Give the Word to Word of أَلْهَىٰكُمُ B. What will they be distracted by? C. Give a few examples of this distraction.
a. it distracted you b. The people will be distracted by the competition of this world. They compete with each other for things of this world.
c. Money, kids, games, food, cars, homes
Verse 1 - أْاقْرَبِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ What are the 2 ways to understand the word Iqra?
Read the Name of your Master (i.e. bismillah ar-Rahman ar-Raheem). Read what has been revealed to you from your Master. 2.Read with the Name of your Master-So the people know that what you are saying are not your own words
Verse 2 - خَلَقَ الْإِنْسَانَ مِنْ عَلَقٍ Why did Allah (swt) mention how humans are created? To prove/support what?
1.Resurrection (coming back to life → on the day of Judgment) The One who can make you from a fluid can easily bring your body back to life after you die
2.Shows the higher purpose the human was made for -This worthless fluid turns into such a complex being, we are not here to waste out time (we have a purpose)-What is our purpose - to worship Allah (swt) and get his pleasure
3 .To humble the human-Your highly positioned job/looks/wealth/status should not make you feel so arrogant - in reality we are very small
