Sin is breaking the commandments of God, and a sinner is someone who disobeys God and breaks His commandments.

He boasted about his fasting, tithing, and righteousness to show off to others.

What do we receive when we go to confession, what happens to our sins?
We receive absolution from the priest, and our sins are transferred to Christ.
