What is asexual reproduction?

Reproduction that is focused on one parent producing offsprings

100

What is a trait?

A genetically determined characteristic.

100

What is inheritance?

The process of passing genetic information from a parent to their offspring

100
Show an example of a homozygous dominant genotype

AA BB CC

200

What is sexual reproduction

Reproduction that is focused on two parents producing offsprings

200

What is a genotype?

This is the gene that you see on the punnet square as the letters

200

What is this?

Heterozygous allele

200

What does homozygous mean?

Having the same allele

300

What are the positives of asexual reproduction?

One parent, very quick

300

What is the difference of homozygous and heterozygous?

Homozygous meaning the same alleles, heterozygous is different alleles.

300

What is this?

Heterozygous Allele

300

What does heterozygous mean?

Heterozygous means having different alleles

400

What is the negatives of asexual reproduction?

Genes are identical, if something happens to the parent, it happens to the rest

400

What is an allele? Give an example of a homozygous allele

Is one of two or more versions of DNA sequence, AA BB rr ff

400

What is this considered?

Homozygous alleles

400

What does homozygous dominant mean?

Homozygous dominant means that one pair of allele will have a capital letter.

500

Name the positives and negatives of sexual reproduction

Genetic variation, Most likely to survive/Two parents, takes a long time to develop

500
You have two parent flowers, one flower is red (R) and the other is blue (b). One parent is homozygous recessive, the other is heterozygous. What is a homozygous dominant trait mean? Name the genotype of each parent and name the phenotype of both parents.

Homozygous recessive trait means they are both the same and the parent has the recessive trait. Genotype of blue parent is bb and Red parent is Rr. Phenotype of bb is Blue, phenotype for Rr is red.

500

What is the way sponges reproduced?

Asexually, through the process of budding

500

Which type of reproduction creates organisms that would have an easier time adjusting to a new environment? Why?

Sexual Reproduction because there are more variations amongst the organisms created.
