Self-reports
The right of the participant for their personal details to remain private.
Confidentiality
Data that is expressed in numerical amounts
Quantitative data

Generalisability
The variable that is manipulated and the variable that is measured
Independent variable
Dependent variable
Used to observe and compare groups of participants on one or more variables of interest at a single point in time, often used for age related differences
Cross-sectional study
When the participant is unaware of the true nature of the experiment.
Deception
Data that relies on personal opinion or self-report.
Subjective data
What can we conclude when a research investigation is replicated and the researcher found that they obtained the same results as the original investigation.
