C4GW-Meandering Convo showing coach-like conversations get us clearer faster = a physical activity with people situating themselves on a continuum.

WHY- to increase the physicality and movement and energy in the room.

100

A facilitated brainstorming of challenges to choose from in the practice sessions

WHY- Improves the benefit of the practice rounds if participants have mindfully created a list of real business challenges to use by increasing personalization and contextualization and choice.

100

Separated out the practice or dialogue opportunities with a fewer questions at a time.

WHY- This allows for more focused practice and rich debrief and understanding of why each question is “essential."  Based on assumption that people are tempted to replace or modify the questions because they are unclear as to why they are essential.

100

TRIBE forming questions/exercises right off the top

WHY- sets the tone early, opportunity to get moving, TRIBE building. Participants experience the “safety” of pairs/triads early… “oh, that was actually OK!”

200

C4GW- Common distractions content has been gamified.

WHY- to inject some energy and fun into a section that was originally facilitation heavy.

200

End with an energetic practice round and moved the Boost/Mission, Mobile Coach, etc. up.

WHY- the "logistics" or 'next steps' pieces are always at the end and people literally or energetically leave. Setting the stage for the "pulling it all together" practice round (based on meaningful challenges) gives participants something exciting and practical to engage them till the end.

200

“And What Else” debate

WHY- An energetic opportunity to make space for what we hear in almost every facilitation- do we REALLY have to use "And What Else? as written? TWICE?? Supports participants in understanding why behind AWE, and an opportunity to air something that might otherwise keep them from taking advantage of the question. Also fun and physical- getting participants up and moving.

200

Short delay of intro-ing "Would it be useful if" question

WHY- to allow for a more experiential opportunity to get the learning (rather than being lectured at). Experiential / emotional learning sticks better.

Adding it after the first practice round allows for participants to actively experience the difference.

300

"It makes me think of..." piece moved up a bit

WHY- Increases the likelihood that we're addressing something when they are emotionally curious …”but what do I do if I have a great idea or they don’t have many?” Helps the person practicing being coach-like to quiet the Advice Monster Habit and supports the person decanting ideas to potentially be inspired by even more possibilities.

300

Silent Get Clear exercise- using the Get Clear questions individually on oneself.

WHY- Adding an individual exercise increases the balance of "types" of exercises in a generally very extroverted program. The exercise also demonstrates the applicability of our questions on oneself. Increase applicability and use cases.

300

Identifying potential participation distractions

WHY- Participant contribution and DEI lens. Participants play a role in the overall experience and acknowledging what might get in the way of active participation helps to: remove some of the power, plan for and accommodate the distractions, acknowledge the varying participant experiences up front and potentially minimise the distractions.

400

“Yeah buts” for Get Clear questions

WHY- Balancing out the identification of benefits for getting clear with what legitimately might get in the way.

400

Advice Monster Habit exercise is reminiscent of the Drama Triangle Exercise.

WHY- A more visible and physical opportunity to experience the recognition that 1- “we’re in this together” and 2- our old habit has many risks. All experienced while standing and looking each other in the eye. Creates emotional connection to the content which increases engagement and memory.

500

Creation of 2 NHFs rather than 1 (only commit to 1 for their mission).

WHY- Allows for more new habit building practice as well as potentially increasing the self awareness of any reward themes that might exist. Increases the WHY behind following through. Supports adult learning component of choice which supports engagement and follow thru.
