The colonial rebellion was not about money. Explain the principle behind the anger of the colonial patriots. 

No taxation without representation. 

They had been running their own governments and ignored by Britain for over 150 years. After the French and Indian War, the colonists were asked to pay debts. They wanted to be represented in parliament or vote on their own taxes.
