Paced bottle feeding is when you let the infant guide the bottle to them, allowing them to take breaks and start again when ready.

Infants- 1:4
Toddlers- 1:7

What items need to be deep cleaned in the infant room?
Table and seats (scrubbed and wiped)
Carpets (vacuumed daily, washed monthly)
Shelves (wiped down)
Bathroom (scrubbed weekly, sanitized professionally monthly-coming soon!)
Floors (swept and mopped daily)
What do you do if an infant falls asleep in the carpeted area?
Move them to their cribs.
A parent is concerned about lost/misplaced belongings, how do you respond?
Help them look for the items.
Explain you will keep an eye out and make a note so others can keep an eye out too. (paper or brightwheel)
Direct them to our lost and found area up front.
What is parallel play?
Playing next to peers, and not necessarily with them. Starting in the toddler years.
In regards to child's safety what needs to be maintained at all times as a staff member?
A staff member needs to maintain both Sight and Sound at all times.
How do you properly handle and dispose of bodily fluids?
Wear gloves and gather all supplies needed to clean child and area first.
Throw away all soiled paper towels in own separate garbage bag and use three step system to clean area.
Place soiled clothes in plastic bag to go home. Do not hang bags on hooks.
What items need to be removed from a childs body before sleeping?
Necklaces, hoods, clips for pacifiers, or anything else that can cause strangulation while sleeping.
* Children over one year of age are allowed to sleep with a blanket.
What should staff members do when parents and children arrive in the morning, or when parents pick up in the afternoon?
Greet them! Engage. Ask them how they are, tell them something about their child's day.
Besides learning numbers letters and shapes, what is another major component of kindergarten readiness?
Social/Emotional Development and Self Regulation
How often does CPR and First Aide have to be renewed?
Every two years. Example: March 2020, March 2022, etc.

You dont.
Please dont feel obligated or upset.
A director or owner will respond and handle all Brightwheel conversations that are "uncomfortable"
When staff get on a child's level, engage with them, and play/ sing with them, they are preventing what from happening?
Actions including running, yelling or otherwise negative-attention-seeking behaviors.
What needs to be done in the kitchen after lunch is over?
Old food needs to be thrown out. If saved, it must be dated and contents labeled.
Dishes need to be washed, rinsed, and sanitized in the triple sinks and air dried.
Floor swept and garbage taken out at end of day.

How should toddlers and preschooler cots be laid out to prevent the spread of disease and to maintain fire code?
Head-to-toe and spread out throughout the room creating enough space between children.

When a child is potty training, how often should a staff member remind the child to use the bathroom?
Hourly.

How do you evacuate each room in case of a fire?
Put all babies in the two emergency cribs and wheel them out the closest emergency door, and out the front of the building to the flag pole.
Toddlers are guided out back door of their classroom and out to cement slab next door.
Preschoolers are guided out their back door, to the left towards the toddler side, meeting near toddler group on cement slab.
*Emergency binder needs to be brought with and a headcount needs to be maintained at all times.
