What is repentance?
To turn away from things that go against the way God wants us to live.
What does it mean for us to be salt and light for the world?
Salt reminds us to season our thoughts, words, and actions with God's love and to act different from the world Light reminds us to shine God's light to show the way for others to come to him. (Matt 5: 13-16)
In the parable of the 4 soils, what does the good soil represent?
People who are ready to hear the word of God,listen, and believe. (Matt 13)

Why was Jesus tempted in the desert by Satan?
So he could understand how we feel when we are tempted and so he show his ability to withstand temptation and remain perfect (and ultimately become the perfect sacrifice for our sins).
What is sanctification?
The Holy Spirit helping us to be more like Jesus.
What is the lesson Jesus was teaching when he told the story of the wise and foolish builders?
Build your life on the foundation of Jesus' teachings and not the shifting sands of the world's whims. (Matt 7:24-27)
How is the kingdom of heaven like a mustard seed and yeast?
It only takes a little word, effort, for God to grow his kingdom into something big. God's word will spread if we share it. (Matt 13)
How did Jesus help his disciples feed the crowd?
He took the fish and bread, blessed it, and divided it for the crowd.
What does Jesus teach us about our words?
They reflect what's in our heart. They can draw others to Jesus or they can turn them away. (Matt 15)

To know God, to love God, to enjoy God, to glorify God.

Not to be seen by men, but in secret and receive a reward from the Father. (Matt 6:1-24)

He has compassion on people, even when he was grieving the loss of John the Baptist. He knows our needs and provides for them. (Matt 14)
Who tried to remove Jesus as king of his new kingdom? Why didn't it work?
Chief Priest, teachers of the law, elders. It didn't work, because it was God's plan for Jesus to die so that we would be forgiven and live with him in heaven. People can't thwart God's plans.
