Working in a BIM workflow typically allows the designer to spend more time during this phase of design instead of Construction Documents where traditionally the most time is spent on a project.

Because elements know how they are related some behaviors are handled at this level instead of the designer manually doing the work. For example doors and windows cutting holes in walls, or walls attaching to roofs.

The model is used throughout this. From beginning to end.
