We find solutions and bring constructive suggestions to issues. We are crew not passengers. If something isn’t working or needs fixing we take an active role in addressing the issue using our communication norms. We have a “no lumpy carpets” rule at re:vitalize. “You don’t need to have all the answers...but you do have to be willing to work through the situation, to follow up, to confront behaviors that do not line up with the stated convictions, and to encourage at all times.”1

What is the Insulin Lock and Key analogy?
Insulin is the hormone released by the pancreas that helps to unlock the cells to let food and nutrients and other hormones in and out of the cells. If the “key” or the “key hole” is filled with “gunk” it may be challenging to unlock the lock. Similar to if there are excess fat or sugar blocking up the cells that your body cannot get rid of.
"Feeling Puffy"- what questions do you ask, what do you do?
The symptom of “feeling puffy” in the hands or feet could be related to excess salts in the diet such as seasoning mixtures or chicken broth or Braggs, which can lead to swelling. This symptom also could be related to any alcohol intake, as it promotes interstitial fluid. I may ask about certain medications the clients are taking such as blood pressure medications, due to the fact that BP medications are diuretics. I might also ask if they notice any specific foods that spike this symptom, how their fluid intake is currently, and how much exercise (and what kind) they are doing on a weekly basis. Ask if they have deviated from the program.
Add in double fizzy, increase or decrease PS and or water or veggies. See if any medications are being counteracted by supps.
Contains Acemannon; helps with diarrhea/ constipation
We do what we say we’ll do by effective follow up, follow through and follow back.

What is the difference between change and sustain talk?
Change talk refers to statements made by the client that indicate a desire, ability, reason, or need for change. This type of talk is supportive of making a shift in behavior. These statements further motivate the client to move towards change. Sustain talk is certain statements that indicate a desire to maintain the current behavior or reasons for not changing. Sustain and change talk can look differently from client to client. We want to address the sustain talk and acknowledge the client’s thoughts and feelings, but ultimately draw out expressions of desire, reasons to change, need to change, and taking steps towards the change.

Intrinsic motivation is driven by internal rewards and personal satisfaction. In other words, intrinsic motivation comes from thoughts within. Extrinsic motivation involves doing something for external rewards or to avoid negative consequences. It relies on external factors to influence behavior.
