What steps should you take when a graduate student has a teaching placement unlike the samples in the SGA Handbook?
1) Review the guidance and the examples in the Handbook and apply your judgment as to what the graduate student should measure. 2) email sga@relay.edu sharing the teacher's classroom context and your recommendation(s) for what you believe they should measure.

Name 2 reasons why a graduate student may choose to use a summative assessment at the end of the year and explain why this assessment may only have 2 items per standard.
Sample Answers: 1) It's a Regents class and a summative measure is most aligned to instruction and good for kids 2) It ensures the retention of material over time 3) Wonky stuff can happen with school IAs, etc. this allows graduate students another option at the end of the year if need be. We only need 2 items per standard b/c we can't condone things like 150 item assessments for 1st graders.

Name one shared data option and a real life example (other than Mr. Joe, Ms. Doe and Ms. Snow) of when it would be appropriate to use this option. Please also share an example of when a graduate student may want to use a shared data option that would NOT be appropriate.
Sample Appropriate #1: A teacher is only responsible for planning and teaching half of the math standards in year (the co-teacher teaches the other 50%). This teacher selects the divided content option. Sample Appropriate #2: I'm an elementary teacher who has a co-teacher. You know what? That's pretty cool. Even though I don't teach each small-group they are all my students and I should be held responsible for all of their educational outcomes. Bam! This teacher selects the shared data option. Sample NOT Appropriate: I only teach the reading mastery portion of our class literacy instruction and I only want to be responsible for fluency growth. My co-teacher is really weak.
