What is the purpose of each of the 5 Canons of Rhetoric? 

Inventio: spending time to think of a thoughtful answer creates a firm foundation on which to build your argument.

Dispositio: Order matters: ponder how to lay out your arguments so that they are most convincing.

Elecutio: Words, syntax, choice of appeals: focus on your audience: they are the ones you have to convince.

Memoria: Practice makes PERMANENT. Say your speech the way you want it to sound. Be master of your own voice and writing.

Actio: Give the speech, and give it well: eye contact, expression, body position, hand gestures, vocal inflections
