What is pathos?
Any discourse which hopes to condemn or defend a person
Meaning "Invention" or "Discovery" this canon is used to form an effective argument based on research and discovering more about the topic.
What is inventio?
This appeal has to do with the credibility and background of a speaker and why an audience should believe a speech
Discourse designed to please and inspire its listener(s) leading to their persuasion
What is epideictic discourse?
Directly translating to "to speak", this canon is based on words and syntax in an argument
What is elocutio?
Deductive reasoning, the logical piece of an argument.
What is logos?
Any discourse which hopes to lead a listener to become persuaded by the argument, the most inclusive of the 3 persuasive discourses.
This canon relates to the actual memorization of speeches before they are given
