In an active shooter situation there are both tactical and rescue operations: what are the priorities for each operation and who do they involve?
Tactical operation: law enforcement … priority is to mitigate the threat (may have contact team and rescue team)- information about shooter goes to PD
Rescue operation: EMS/Fire … priority is to provide life-saving interventions to injured parties (may form Rescue Task Force and set up Casualty Collection Points)- Patient information/location goes to rescue

Lock doors (barricade if possible)
Close blinds/ cover windows
Make sure shooters won’t be able to hear you
Hide along walls closest to exit to allow possible escape if shooter enters the room
Hide behind large items that might provide extra protection
Look for possible ways to escape/ defend against shooter if they find you
