You are stuck on your work. What should you do first?

Stop and think. Look at the directions, examples, and what you already know.

10

You finish your work. Where does it go?

Put it in the Finished Bin by the teacher's desk.

10

Can you play in the quiet space with the pillows?

No. The quiet space is for quiet/calm use.

When you arrive in the morning, what do you do once you enter the classroom?

Put backpack away, put shoes away neatly underneath and sit at your desk.

What is the procedure when the recess bell rings?

Line up on the left hand doors, one person to help hold the door. Say thank you. Walk in. Get indoor shoes and sit at desk.

20

You've thought about the problem and you're still stuck after trying to figure it out yourself. What's your next step?

Ask 3-ask three classmates/friends for help before asking the teacher.

You put your work in the Finished Bin. What can you do next?

Choose an appropriate quiet activity such as:

Should you?

If Ms. Clare has asked everyone to work quietly and independently, leave your friends until they are done to share together.

You're working independently. You don't understand one question. Your teacher is helping someone else, and your friend beside you is working.

I would reread the directions, look at an example, think about what I already know, and then ask a friend. If I'm still stuck, I can ask the teacher.

50

You finish your work. Your friend is still working. You whisper:“Come on! Let's play!”
