War is extremely good for the economy.  It keeps production at a maximum, and has a continuous stream of income from those products.  When the war ends, the 'war machine' is turned off, which creates uncertainty and destabilization in the market (recession).  Troops who survived the war come back and not all of them can get their jobs back.  Meanwhile, companies need to re-adjust back to normal business and old clients.
