Often in parentheses. They tell actors what to DO.

A statement someone makes to sway the reader to think a certain way.

Presents events or steps in the order they happen.
Sequence of events
Words that have a beat or music like pattern.
Rhythm
A photo followed by labels that help the reader understand the picture.
Diagram
Objects used to enhance the story of a play.
Props
Summarizes the main argument and provides a final thought.
Conclusion
Examines similarities and differences between two or more people or concepts.
Compare and Contrast
Comparing 2 things using like or as.
Simile
Teach the reader something about facts. EX: Tutorial, Documentary, News.
Inform
List of people actors play in a drama.
Characters
An example that you write to win your argument.
