What property of a diamond would make it useful for drilling?

It's hardness.

300

What is the difference between a mineral and a rock?

Minerals are the building blocks of rocks and cannot be made up of anything but the mineral. Rocks can be made up of one or more minerals.

6.5

500

Igneous rock that has fine-grained crystals.

Extrusive igneous rock.

500

What is the role of the oceans in the water cycle?

Oceans store large amounts of water before evaporation.

500

The difference between physical and chemical weathering is...

Physical weathering just breaks things apart and chemical weathering changes the rocks forever/changes its chemical composition.

Describe how rocks can change in the rock cycle.

An igneous rock can become sedimentary when it gets weathered down into sediments, those sediments erode, and deposit into a body of water. As those sediments layer and layer they become sedimentary rock. As that sedimentary rock continues to layer and get deeper into the ground, it will come into contact with extreme heat and pressure and become metamorphic rock. If that metamorphic rock gets hot enough, it will become molten rock and when that molten rock cools, it becomes igneous rock again.
