They meet and instantly feel love at first sight. They do NOT know they are from enemy families at first. When they find out, they are both very conflicted. Juliet thinks it is cruel that the one boy she might want to marry turns out to be her enemy. Romeo is similarly upset.

Peter sees Romeo and asks if he can read. After saying yes, Romeo reads out the party invites and sees Rosaline's name. He wants to go to the party to see Rosaline. Benvolio wants him to go so he can look at other girls. Romeo is able to enter the party because it is a masquerade ball. (He is wearing a mask)

Describe the plan for Romeo and Juliet getting married.

Juliet will send the Nurse to get word from Romeo. Juliet will meet Romeo at Friar Lawrence's cell. She will tell her family that she is going to do confession. The Nurse will secure a rope ladder for Romeo to use later that night.
