An introductory course designed to provide students with experiences using dry media such as pencil, pastels, and charcoal, and wet media such as ink, watercolor, acrylics, and mixed media. Drawing and painting skills are refined to support personal interpretations and development of artistic style.
Drawing and Painting
A course designed to give students hands-on opportunities in television news production. Through a variety of production experiences students will learn the power of the medium, examine issues of fairness and objectivity, make critical thinking decisions on a regular basis, exercise creativity, and gain an overall understanding of news-gathering and reporting techniques.
Broadcast Media
This course features classroom and laboratory experiences that deal with various trades for building and construction. This course is geared around project based learning. Learning activities include; safety, identifying and proper use of hand and power tools, blueprint reading, introductions to carpentry.
Building and Construction
Basic principles of physical and biological oceanography are introduced. Laboratory experiments, field trips and research projects are a central part of class activities.
Marine Science
The program provides students with training and experience in positive leadership and citizenship, as well as all-around development. The course is supplemented by a variety of activities to complement the high school experience such as Drill Team, Adventure Training, Field Training Exercises, Parades, and Military Ball.
JROTC
The music courses are designed to further the student's music reading and playing abilities at the high school level. Students must have instrumental playing experience. The development of skills and musical understanding is maintained through the use of more difficult literature and public performances.
Orchestra or Band
This course provides an introduction and orientation to a series of related occupations in the food industry and the qualifications of a successful food service worker. The knowledge, skills, work attitudes, and habits developed will enable students to understand basic principles of quantity food preparation, safety and sanitation, use and care of equipment, and food service organization.
Culinary
Students will have a general understanding of careers and skills needed for the healthcare industry. Students will gain essential knowledge and attitudes for healthcare systems, legal and ethical principles, technology, safety practices, communication, employment expectations and the interdependence of major body systems as they relate to health and wellness.

Yearbook
A hands-on and interactive leadership class. Focus is on how to be a great leader and communicator. You will design and implement an innovative leadership project, learn the 5 practices of Effective leadership, and discover your unique strengths.
Center for Tomorrow's Leaders
In this beginning level course students will study and perform dramatic works. Emphasis is on developing students’ ability to express themselves freely through verbal and nonverbal techniques and establish personal criteria for critical evaluation of dramatic activities.
Explorations in Drama
Students will learn essential business concepts that will provide a solid foundation for further study in preparation for careers in business. Problem-based, real-world application of business concepts will be emphasized. Students will utilize technology for a variety of business applications and business communication.

This course is designed to introduce students to the hospitality and tourism industry—travel & tourism, hotel & lodging, cruises, food & beverage outlets, attractions, meetings, conventions, & special events. Focus on the interrelationships of the industry’s systems to provide quality experience for guests.
Hospitality and Tourism
The study of the human anatomy, the body structures, and the functions of cells, tissues, organs, and organ systems. This course examines how structure and function are related and how the body reacts to stimuli in everyday life.
Human Physiology
A course for all students interested in holding any of the following positions: Student gov’t./class level officers, senators, and committee chairpersons. This course is designed to develop leadership qualities through experiences in individual and group activities.
Associated Student Body
Students will develop understanding of the basics of play production through the active participation in the production of a play. Students will learn the various aspects of directorial responsibilities in producing a play for an audience and participate in different areas of theatre arts, including production, promotion, and critiquing activities.
Play Production
This course is designed to equip students with the necessary skills to support and enhance their use of digital media technologies. Topics will include the creation of media content, its communicative abilities, the production process, and legal concerns.
Digital Media Technology
Students who plan to pursue careers in business, and/or related occupations. Students will learn fundamentals of finance, ranging from stock market and other investments to understanding how to value a company based on its financials. This course will look study the financials of publicly traded companies.
Finance
The study of society. In this course we will seek to examine our societies and their influence on our behavior as well as the influence of our behavior on society. Topics may include: groups, culture, institutions (Economy, Family, Education, Government, and Religion).
Sociology
Hawaiian language, leadership, and presentation skills are incorporated into this hands-on project-based class that focuses on Native Hawaiian culture. Examples of projects for this course include kapa-making, board and stone, ukulele, and hale building.
Kaliopeku
An introductory course designed to provide experiences in clay as a medium of expression. Basic hand building and glazing techniques are covered.
Ceramics
A second level course for students interested in health services careers. The major body systems will be used to help students learn about diseases, disorders, prevention and treatment and the roles of the various healthcare providers involved in diagnosis and/or treatment.
Clinical Health
This course is for students who plan to pursue careers in business, and/or related occupations. Students will develop business ideas, draft business plans, and begin business operations in order to run successful businesses. Methods of start-up funding will also be discussed.
Entrepreneurship
The study of knowing and thinking, allowing us to examine what we know, why we know it, how we know it, and to question things we don’t understand or that don’t appear to make sense. This course will allow students to focus on such questions as “who am I?, who will I become?, how do I know what I know?, and how will I leave here and be a conscientious member of our world?”.
Philosophy
This course engages students in cross-curricular content that explores the complexities of academic and real-world topics. Students will practice reading and analyzing articles, researching various and often student-driven topics, and studying literary and philosophical texts.
