We line up right away to get to places on time (recess, integrals). If we don't line up right away, the integrals teacher is behind, we miss learning, or we miss recess fun!

You hold the computer flat with two hands. You walk in on the right and out on the left.

Who collects materials for your table and what do they double check? How do we collect materials on the carpet?
The table leader collects papers and they check for names. We pass papers forward and down on the carpet.

Where do we turn in papers?
In the labeled bins on the side of the room (look to see what the sticker says: ELA, Math, ELD/Ruler, Science.
Why do we walk in one line in the hallway at level 0?
We walk to be safe so we don't slip or run into anyone. We walk in one line so other lines or people can walk on the other side of us. We are at level 0 so other people can learn without being distracted.
What do we do if we spill or need something at lunch?
Raise our hands and use patience tool-don't get up
What is the new thing we're doing after we get computers? What should the voice level be?
We're starting our math do now. After the 2 minute timer is up, we should be at level 0 working.
What does listening during a lesson look like and sound like?
Eyes on the speaker, nodding, calm bodies, able to repeat what person said
How do we get papers from our friends?
We ask:
Are you done? Can I have your paper? Did you write your name?

What does a safe body look like in the halls and on the stairs?
walking tall, arms by side or holding railing, not leaning with body on or over railing, one step at a time
What are important things to do during recess and after the whistle blows?
Go to the bathroom, get water, have fun, eat a snack, freeze on the first whistle, immediately walk to line on the second whistle
What should we be doing during closing routine? Who should be moving?
Homework, behavior, or coloring. Only groups getting backpacks, people with jobs and the teacher should be moving

Why do we follow directions the first time?
So everyone in our community can get all of their learning time. So that we can complete lessons efficiently. So we have leftover time for choice activities.
Why do we whisper or use a level 1 voice during a turn and talk?
So everybody can hear their partner and so the teacher can hear students and give them feedback.
