What is the difference between Mental Health and Mental Illness?
Mental health is a state of well-being, it is a person’s ability to cope with the normal stressors of life and complete daily tasks required of them. It is more than the absence of an illness.
Mental illness is the presence of a condition that effects an individual’s emotions, their thinking and behaviour. It can impact an individuals ability to perform at work and school and their ability to interact with others.
Is the consequence when an individual is unable to cope leading to disorders such as depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia and eating disorders to name a few.
What is the difference between Moderate-Intensity aerobic activity versus Vigorous-Intensity Activity?
Health Canada states:
Moderate- walking, biking riding (little sweating a bit of increased breathing rate)
Vigorous- jogging/running, cross-country skiing (to sweat and be almost out of breath)
