What are Contemporary Rugs?
These rugs lie flat on the surface of a loom during the weaving process. The warp is strung vertically on the loom and the weft yarn is threaded through the warp to create the weave.
These types of rugs are much easier to produce than hand knotted or handwoven.
What is Flat-Woven?
These fibers are derived from the cellulose of fast growing plants such as bamboo, banana, beech, eucalyptus and pine. The cellulose is broken down through a chemical process that creates the fiber, which is then spun into yarns.
Similar to silk but much more sensitive to liquids.
