A SART is done to collect DNA evidence it will not state whether an assaults has happened and the results will be attached to the court case, survivor will not receive the results.

Challenges to healing for someone who is incarcerated are... 

When someone is raped in a locked setting, fear can keep them from disclosing the assault, and even if it is disclosed, often they are not believed, left in the same cell, labeled by derogatory and demeaning terms, or punished for reporting. 

Before PREA, reports of sexual violence in facilities were more often retaliated against or ignored.
