Do students need a visa to study abroad in the UK?
Yes and no. Students studying abroad from one semester (or less than six months) and who aren't completing an internship during this time, don't need a visa. They will be required to register as a student upon arrival.
Students studying abroad for an academic year and/or are completing an internship do require a visa.
Reminder: we cannot give visa advice (no one in the OSA can). We can help students interpret documents but questions should ideally go to embassies/visa providers.
