Someone you don't know, even if you recognize the person and they act friendly.

A helmet.

What should you do for safety when you first get in the car?
Put your seat belt on.
What should you do when leaving your house and no one is home?
Lock the door.
Does a stranger have to look like a "bad" person?
No. A stranger is someone you don't know and we can't tell if they're a "good" or "bad" person by looking at them. Tere can be "good" and "bad" strangers. Fire fighters are "good" strangers because they are community helpers.
What should you always wear when riding in a vehicle?
A seatbelt.
What is one cause of house fires?
Matches, stove, oven, heaters, exposed wiring, cigarettes.
What is the safe way to cross the road?
Cross at the crosswalk (if available). Look left and right many times. Cross only when there are no cars. Walk quickly.
What should you do when someone knocks at your door when no one else is home?
Check to make sure that you know the person and ask why they are there. Don't open the door to them if you don't know them or aren't expecting them.
In general, should you take food or drinks from a stranger?
No, you do not know that person. There may be something unsafe in the food or drink.
What should you do before going anywhere alone or with friends?
Tell a family member or other adult where you are going so that someone knows where you are in case of an emergency.
What should you do if your house is on fire?
Get out of the house as quickly as possible. Meet your family outside and call 911.
What should you do if someone you don't know if attempting to chase you?
Run to a public place that is open. Yell for help. Hide until the chaser is gone. Fight to defend yourself if you can.
What should you do if you hear a strange noise outside your house?
Stay inside and wait for someone to come home or call for help if needed.
If you get lost, who is a safe stranger you can find to ask for help?
Firemen, Policemen, Librarians, Bankers, People working at stores, Lifeguard - these people will usually be wearing a uniform.
Is it more safe for you to meet someone you just met at the mall or their house?
The mall, because it's a public place.
What should you do if your clothes are on fire?
Stop, drop, and roll.
What signs tells you how to get out of a room?
The red and white Exit sign.
What do you do if you come home and notice the windows are broken?
Don't go in. Tell a responsible adult or call the police if you are alone.
What information should you NOT share with someone you just met?
Give 2 examples or public transportation options.
City bus, taxi, train, airplane, Uber.
What should you do if there is a lot of smoke in your house?
Get as low as you can because smoke rises.
What are some safety rules when walking home from school?
Know your route.
Keep your head up while walking.
Stay on the sidewalk.
Walk to the right side of the sidewalk if someone is walking towards you.
Can metal items go into the microwave?
No! They can start a fire.
