Someone you don't know, even if you recognize the person and they act friendly
What should you always wear while riding a bike?
A helmet
Should you play with matches/lighters? why or why not?
No. Matches/lighters start fire and fires can get very big, very quickly.
What information should you never give out on the internet?
Personal information (name, phone number, address, birthday)
What should you do for safety when you first get in the car?
Put on your seat belt.
Does a stranger have to look like a "bad" person?
No. Remember a stranger is someone you don't know. Even a police officer is a stranger if we don't know him/her. We don't know if a person is good or bad by just looking at them.
Should you ride your bike near a busy road? Why or why not?
No. Cars may not be able to see you and there could be an accident. Stay away from busy roads unless an adult is very close to you.
Who do you call if you need help with a fire emergency?
911
Who should monitor the websites you use while using a computer?
Parents, teachers, other trusted adults.
What should you do while walking to school from your home?
Use sidewalks, cross walks, look both ways before crossing busy streets. Walk with a friend.
If someone you don't know says, " I know your mom. She said for me to take you in my car." What should you do?
Say "No!" and run away from the car.
Should you go outside without asking your parents? Why or why not?
No, because your parents wouldn't know where to find you. If you were to get hurt, they wouldn't know where to look to be able to help you.
What should you do if the house is on fire?
You need to get out the house as quickly as possible. Meet your family outside and use a cell phone or neighbor's phone to call the fire department.
What should you do if a pop-up ad appears on your screen?
X out of the screen immediately and tell your parents.
Should you ever hide from your parents in a store? Why or why not?
No. If you are hiding and they can't find you, they may walk off to go look for your. When you decide to come out of hiding, they may not be there and then you would be really lost.
If an adult you don't know says, "Will you help me find my dog? Come with me, the dog can't be far." What should you do?
Should you get into a swimming pool without a grown up with you?
No. Even if you are a great swimmer, accidents happen. You always need one other person with you to be safe and that person should be an adult.
What should you do if your clothes are on fire?
Stop. Drop. & Roll.
What should you do with a friend request from someone you don't recognize or know?
Ignore/delete the request.
Why should you walk with an adult in a parking lot?
If you get lost and can't find an adult that you know, who is a safe stranger you can find to ask for help?
A police officer, teacher/principal, parents of your close friends.
What should you do if you see broken grass on the ground while playing?
Do not touch the glass. Let an adult know where it is so they can safely remove it.
Crawl close to the ground to find a way out of the house.
What should you do if you encounter a bad website or virus?
Report it to your parents and explain the situation. Be sure to tell the truth.
Who should you call if your mom has gotten very sick and she cannot use the phone?
Dial 911. By calling 911, an operator can either send the police, fire department or an ambulance (or all 3) to help.
