A patient walks to your directed collection area with a small laceration, but now becomes confused, has increasing work of breathing, and cannot follow commands. Does “walking” keep them green?
For a child who remains apneic after airway opening, SALT allows consideration of this.
what are two rescue breaths
A patient cannot follow commands, has respiratory distress, lacks a peripheral pulse, or has uncontrolled major hemorrhage.
what is immediate / red
Unlike START’s familiar RPM approach, SALT does not require this type of respiratory cutoff.

A patient is lying still, does not respond to commands, and makes no purposeful movement. Under SALT global sorting, they belong in this assessment priority.

This medication delivery method is listed as a SALT lifesaving intervention for certain toxidromes/exposures.
