Jesus' death provided the payment for sin. Another way to understand salvation is that Jesus took the punishment that people rightly deserved
What would someone need to do to cross to the other side with God? What are the requirements?
To be sinless, perfect
Did the lambs in the Old Testament take away a persons sin forever?
No, it was a temporary sacrifice until that person sinned again.
How did Jesus take away our sins?
He met the requirement to cross the gap to God. He died in our place so that we didn't have to die. He took our sin so that we can now have a relationship with God.
