Origin Story
I met Sam in San Francisco through Chantal and Simone (Chantal’s sister). I don’t remember much about meeting Sam because I was laser focused on getting Simone to go on a date with me. I probably didn’t pay much attention to Sam that night but I knew we would be friends because he's easy going enough to put up with my attitude.
Who is Jeremy?
Our senior year of high school Sam and I ate Wendy’s 3 nights per week. I was playing water polo daily and he was not. Wendy’s made me shredded. Wendy’s made Sam fat.
Who is Wes?
Sam is hands-down the greatest person in the world, which I am wary of typing because I am fairly certain that he believes that too. All of my memories with him make me laugh -- from flopping around in a random Pilates class in Claremont to philosophizing over pastries at Somecrust, to backpacking on the beach in Olympia during torrential downpour, to playing dodgeball at Camp Nordy like our lives depended on it. But one memory that lives rent-free in my brain (and is deeply unhinged) is from sophomore year, when we decided that a perfectly normal Saturday was actually the perfect day to visit every single Christmas store in Claremont. It wasn’t December. We bought multiple christmas sweaters and all the kitschiest, gaudiest, most absurd holiday decorations we could find from the old ladies that man the storm. Then we transformed my dorm room into a holiday fever dream—think Buddy the Elf meets chaotic college energy meets peppermint schnapse—for absolutely no reason. I don't know why this is a Sam memory but probably just because he brings me buddy the elf level joy
