This term indicates a necessary medical care plan to a patient for an illness and/or injury.
What is Treatment?
This is your commitment and responsibility to manage your feelings so that you don't hurt yourself or others.
What is Emotional Intelligence?
This is one of the 7 commitments, that involve " saying what we mean, but not being mean while we say it"
What is Open Communication?
Interrupting, dismissing, or ignoring someone’s voice does this to communication and breaks trust.
What is disrespecting others?
Sanctuary is a trauma-informed model that guides us through core guiding principles that shape how we provide care, engage in therapeutic practices, communicate with residents, and carry ourselves as both staff and individuals.
How is Sanctuary used at the RTF?
This is a response to an unforgettable event that impacts someone psychologically, creating overwhelming feelings that often block/lead to shock, denial, and changes in the body, mind, and behavior.
What is Trauma?
This is your commitment to respecting and sharing the ideas of our peers and staff.
What is Social Learning?
The use of peaceful means, not to negatively force opinions in hopes to bring about political or social change: doing the right thing with others, inside and out.
What is Non-Violence?
This verbal and written action spreads negativity and blame, rather than taking personal responsibility.
What is Gossiping?
This is a peaceful process between two or more parties use to reach an amicable. Peaceful solution to a dispute, difference, conflict or misunderstanding.
What is conflict resolution/mediation?
This short daily check in meeting is used to promote connection and personal well-being.
What is Community Meeting?
This is your commitment to collaborate in decision-making with both peers and staff, in a positive and supportive way.
What is Democracy?
Example: This needlecraft and hobby use a single hook to create items from yarn, one loop at a time.
What is crochet?
Reacting with anger or control rather than curiosity and compassion goes against this Sanctuary principle.
What is Hostility?
This method/practice should be used at all times!
