Nilkanth had darshan of Ramanand Swami’s serene form and noted his features. Kurji Dave brought news that Ramanand Swami had invited Nilkanth and sadhus to Piplana. He experienced immense bliss in the presence of the young celibate. Convinced of Nilkanth’s extraordinary spiritual powers, Mohandas bowed to him. He asked Nilkanth why a young boy was roaming the difficult Himalayan terrain. Nilkanth replied that he traveled to guide those lost in life. Mohandas, wanting spiritual guidance, decided to stay with Nilkanth. Nilkanth realized Mohandas was eager to discover himself but attached to worldly things. Mohandas became fascinated by an attractive kamandal presented to Nilkanth. At a river, Mohandas warned Nilkanth to be careful of the kamandal. Nilkanth broke the kamandal to teach him not to cling to worldly objects. Mohandas felt reformed and touched Nilkanth’s feet in respect. Later, Nilkanth warned him against eating poisonous violet mango-like fruits. Some arrogant bawas ignored the warning, ate the fruits, and died. Mohandas later met Bhagwan Swaminarayan in Dwarka and became Vrajanand Swami.
