What voice levels are you expected to have in the classroom?

Students are expected to work at an inside voice or quiet level or a conversational level. 

No outside voice. No yelling or getting loud.

What do you do when you enter the classroom in the morning?

Take out any materials that are posted on the board and wait quietly to begin our morning routine.

What do you when you walk inside from P.E.?

You walk in quietly and straight line and head towards the restrooms to wash your hands and prepare for lunch.

When you come to school late - after 8:30, what do you do?

You get a tardy slip from the front office and place it in the blue tray.

Who is in charge of getting the workbooks?

The Group Monitor is in charge of passing out the books to their group members.

The Library Keeper can help pass out the books.

Who is responsible for writing down homework?

YOU are. Each 2nd grade student is responsible for writing down their homework.

What do you do when you want to use the restroom?

You show the restroom hand signal. It is two crossed fingers. You wait for Ms. Diaz to give a "go ahead".

How do students line up?

In number order or alphabetical order.

Only the line leader and door holder are not in order when they have the class job role for the month.

What color shirt do we wear on Wednesday's?

On Wednesdays we wear our white chapel tops.

How do you sit during lunch and snack?

Students sit in their same groups from the classroom. 

You remain in your pods.

How do students respect others in the classroom?

By respecting their personal space and items. You keep your hands to yourself and respect one another.

What happens if your pencil needs to be sharpened?

You can ask Ms. Diaz. Raise your pencil in the air and she will sharpen it for you.

What happens to you when you get water or goes to the bathroom after the whistle is blown?
You might get wall detention and or lose your recess time.

When you go to the basketball court for P.E. or Aftercare what is the correct procedure to follow?

You cannot leave the TCA building without an adult. Students are NOT allowed to walk through the parking lot by themselves.

When Ms. Diaz says: "Eyes on Me", what should the class do?

The class responds: "Eyes on You" and they turn to focus on Ms. Diaz and quietly wait for instructions.

Can you return to the classroom during Aftercare?

No. Unless your Aftercare group is assigned to be in the classroom, you cannot be in the classroom after dismissal.

When it is time for dismissal, how does the class show they are ready to go?

The classroom is left clean, the students have grabbed their items and the line is quiet and ready to go.

What do you do when we are walking through

You will walk quietly to you line and line up in number order.

When there is a fire drill, what are you expected to do?

Students are expected to quickly walk to get in a line and head towards the nearest exit. No screaming or yelling will take place.

How should you behave in the hallway to the cafeteria?

You should be quietly waiting and give each other personal space. Not standing in the doorway. Line up in number order.

Go to Before Care, take out your lunch to put in the warmer and use the restroom before entering the class.

What does the clean-up crew do?

They help clean during lunch and snack. Sweeping and wiping tables.
