What do you do when you want to talk in class?
I raise my hand, stay in my seat, and wait until I am called on.
You enter the classroom, walk to your seat, Listen for instructions from your teacher.
You are lost in school and you are unsure how to get somewhere.
You can ask an adult if you see them in the hallway.
If no one is around you can go to the office.
What can you do to help your classmates be better students?
Encourage them by saying positive things when they are doing well.
For example: "That was a great idea" "Wow, I wouldn't have thought of that"
If they are having a tough time gently remind or encourage them.
For example: "I forgot about that rule yesterday too" "Hey, no one is perfect, you got this"
You need to use the bathroom
In history.
In math, science, english, and learning center.
In history, all you need to do is fill out the survey and go. BUT, remember you may miss important information so try and go during independent work time.
In math, science, english, and learning center you have to ask/give a heads up and fill out survey.
When you come to school late, where do you go and what do you do?
You need to go to the office first. They will give you a pass and then go to class.
How do students respect other student's property?
By not touching them or destroying them. Ask to use first before taking anything.
You are confused about an assignment that is due tomorrow. (at home)
You should ask a parent to take a look at the assignment.
You can email your teacher directly and ask your question.
You can email your teacher and ask them if you touch base with them the next class before you complete the assingment.
I feel sick to my stomach or I have a headache.
You should go to the nurse.
What kind of food can students have in class?
Water.
I am absolutely NOT feeling what is happening right now.
Technically you can go for a walk whenever you need to.
Things to remember:
1. You do not need to talk to the classroom teacher about this, talk to Ms. P, if that feels like too much come up w a signal.
2. There are better and worse times to go. Directions at the beginning of class will help you know when is the best time to go. Ms. P may remind you when you ask it may be better in five.
You can find the closest adult or if its in the hallway go to the office and let them know.
How can you respect others?
Listen, try not to interrupt, ask questions, and avoid entering their personal space.
You are really confused and frustrated with an assignment. (in-class)
If the teacher is explaining the directions, wait till they are done to ask a question.
After the instruction, if you are still confused raise your hand quietly and wait.
IF the teacher is helping another student. Write your question down so you don't forget.
When can you go out of the class?
If you ask your teacher to use the bathroom.
If you ask your teacher to see the nurse.
If you touch base with your ESP for a walk you can go at any time. Keep in mind some times are better than others and you MAY need to wait a minute.
