What do you do when you want to talk in class?
By raising you hand quietly until you are picked.

You hang up backpack on your chair, hand in your homework, check to make sure you have TWO SHARP pencils, and follow the instructions on the board.

What do you do if you come to school late

Enter the room quietly and hand in your late pass. Complete the morning procedure (hand in homework, check for 2 sharpened pencils). Whisper to a groupmate to ask what you may have missed.

You walk quietly, in a straight line at a good pace.

By taking turns talking, sharing and most importantly listening.

By not touching them or destroying them. Ask to use first before taking anything.

What do you do if you have to use the bathroom?

Think about whether or not it is a good time to go. Check to see if the sign to the bathroom says it is open. Show the teacher the correct bathroom sign. Quickly and quietly walk to the bathroom so that you do not distract classmates.

How do we treat our books in the library?

Like we love them! We take good care of our books and make sure they are safe.

What happens to you when you get water or goes to the bathroom after the whistle is blown?

You might get wall detention and or lose your recess time.

What do you do if you broke a class rule, are feeling an uncomfortable emotion, or are having a disagreement?

I use the binder in the Calm Kit to first calm myself down. After I calm myself down I flip through the binder to reflect on what happened. I then write down my reflection and share it with Miss Maio. When I feel I am ready to return to class, I sit at my desk quietly. If I want to talk more about what happened, I tell Miss Maio when I give her my reflection notes.

When can I sharpen my pencil? What do I do if I need a sharpened pencil throughout the day?

Before school, during recess time or afterschool. You can also BORROW a sharp pencil from your table supplies.

My desk should be organized and should only include school supplies.

You should make sure everyone feels included and look out for classmates who need someone to play with. You should be safe and keep your hands to yourself. You should also have fun!

What does a good working group look like?

They are sharing, helping, and encouraging others and getting your work or project done.

If you are on line to get school lunch, you should be paying attention and keeping a calm body. When sitting at a table you should make sure everyone is being included and keeping your volume level at a "group" volume.
