What must you do if you have a question?
Quietly raise your index finger and wait to be called on, or wait for the teacher to come to you.
What is the sign if you'd like to get water?
The sign language "W".
What is the first thing you should do when you get to class?
Come in quietly, take out materials and start warm-up/bell ringer.
What do you do when the teacher, or a student she called on, is talking?
Track the speaker and listen attentively.
Who should you ask when you don't understand something?
The teacher!
What happens if you have to fill out a "Think Sheet"?
You fill it out correctly, and you get it signed by your parent or guardian. You also write down what you talked about.
When can you go to the bathroom?
When it's not direct instruction, and once you show the "R" sign. The teacher nods her head and allows you to go.
How should you stand in line before class?
Facing the front, hands to side, lined up against the wall and whispering only to your classmates.
Are you allowed to eat in class?
No, unless I give you a treat.
When I am teaching, our voices are at what level?
Zero!
What item is not allowed to be out at any time?
Gum and mobile/cellphones
What do you do if you need your pencil sharpened?
Raise your hand in the air, holding the broken or dull pencil.
When can you not go to the bathroom?
During the first and last 10 minutes of class. Also, you cannot go during "direct instruction."
How many tallies do you get each time you are disruptive, not working or talking when I'm talking, etc.?
One
When do students get a "think sheet"?
When students are disruptive, etc., usually after a few tallies (usually 3 or 4).
What should you use to write with on classwork?
A pencil or a pen. We DO NOT use markers, colored pencils, or crayons to write with.
When announcements begin, what should you do?
Stop what you're doing, be quiet and listen attentively.
What is the sign if you need a tissue?
Raise your hand and put your other hand over your nose.
How do you enter the classroom?
Walk quietly to your seat, follow directions and start your warm-up or bell-ringer.
Describe the correct way to get a Chromebook from the Chromebook cart.
Students should walk quietly towards the back of the room, unplug the Chromebook that matches their desk number, and walk back to their seats through the front of the class.
How do you show that you have an answer or comment in class?
Show the peace sign and wait to be called upon!
What is never permitted at school, on the blacktop or in class?
Gum and mobile/cellphones!
What does "follow directions the first time" mean?
Follow directions immediately; listen and do what the teacher asks you to do the first time.
What is another rule that we have not already gone over?
Always be kind and respectful!
What happens if you refuse to fill out the "Think Sheet"?
I call your parents/guardians immediately.
What do you do when you need a pencil?
Hold your clenched fist in the air.
What happens if your work is missing for more than 2 weeks?
After 2 weeks, the assignment is marked missing, given a 45%, and it cannot be made up.
Where should we keep our hands and feet?
To ourselves!
Your friend needs a pencil. He sits a few rows away from you. How do you give it to him?
Stand up, walk over to him, and hand it to him nicely.
What happens if I don't get the "Think Sheet" back signed by your family member?
I call your family to let them know that you have an automatic lunch or after school detention.
