What are different habitats?

Tundra, Forests, Grasslands, Deserts, Rainforests, and Oceans.

100

what is the Earths "Mantle" made of?

molten rock called magma.

100

what are the two main types of Erosion?

water, wind

100

What is gravity

a force that pulls objects toward each other/what keeps us on the ground

100

What causes volcanos to form?

When one tectonic plate moves under another.

200

if an animal is hurt what will it do ?

Hide and try to recover ,if not they tend to call 911 for services .

200

why do forest fires happen?

lightning and the rare chnace of other causes.Causes about 60% of wildfies.Humans also cause another 40% of wildfires.

200

what problems do erosions cause?

incressed poulituion in streams and rivers and clogging water way.

200

what is torsion force?

the force that acts on something when its being twisted

200

what is lava called after it hardens?

Igneous rocks

300

what is the only bird that can fly backward?

the humming bird

300

Why do homes catch on fire when owners are not home.

Potentially leave on heaters and something is to close to it and catches on flames.

300

what are ways to prevent erosion?

cover areas with mulch or packed dirt.

300

what are three examples of forces?

drag, lift, gravity

300

What happens during a volcanic eruption?

Molten Lava erupts from the Volcano along with ash and toxic gasses.

400

how do different animals access food

hunting, scavenging, or foraging.

400

what are the plates that make up the earth called?

tectonic plates

400

what happens with wind erosion?

dirt is rolled along the earth, dislodging other dirt particles creating hollow chanels.

400

what force acts on a tension bridge?

torsion, tension, and gravity

Why do volcanos occur

Most of the world's volcanoes are found around the edges of tectonic plates, both on land and in the oceans. On land, volcanoes form when one tectonic plate moves under another. Usually a thin, heavy oceanic plate subducts, or moves under, a thicker continental plate.

why do flamingos turn pink

flamingos get their pink color from their food.Carotenoids give carrots their orange color or turn ripe tomatoes red. They are also found in the microscopic algae that brine shrimp eat. As a flamingo dines on algae and brine shrimp, its body metabolizes the pigments — turning its feathers pink.

500

How many zones are there in the ocean?

Five zones

500

what happens with water erosion?

water softens the land beside it, and causes it to colapse in on itself.

500

what force acts on humans?

gravity

500

what tempature can volcanos reach

These range in temperature from freezing to boiling. Lava-dominated features include lava lakes, lava flows, lava domes, and pyroclastic flows, and can reach temperatures up to about 1200 °C (2200 °F).
