Atom

Force
A state of matter that has a definite volume but not a definite shape, and can flow freely.
Liquid
A combination of two or more different substances that are not chemically combined. (e.g., saltwater)
Mixture
Happens when liquid reaches its boiling point and transforms into vaper.
Boiling
Measure of how much mass is packed into a certain volume. Think of it like how tightly packed things are in a box.
Density
To change from a liquid to a solid, due to a decrease in temperature.
Freeze
The amount of matter in an object.
Mass
The smallest unit of a substance that can exist independently and still retain all its properties.
Molecule
Process where a substance undergoes a reaction that transforms it into one or more entirely new substances.

Process of a solid or liquid substance becoming uniformly distributed within another liquid. It's like sugar disappearing when you stir it into water.
Dissolve
A state of matter with no definite shape or volume, that can flow freely.
Gas
Anything that takes up space and has mass.
Not allowing light to pass through.
Opaque
Characteristic of a substance that can only be observed during or after a chemical reaction.
Chemical Property
To change from a liquid to a gas, usually by turning into vapor.

Gravity
To change from a solid to a liquid, due to an increase in temperature.
Melt
A tiny piece of matter.
Particle
Result of how our eyes perceive light.
Able to easily catch fire and burn. Is a chemical property.
Flammability
How resistant something is to being permanently shaped or dented.
Hardness
A compound formed between a metal and oxygen. (e.g., rust)
Metal Oxide
A change in the form or appearance of a substance, but not its chemical composition. (e.g., ice melting)
