What role does the seed play in a plant?
It contains an embryo at will form a new plant/ carries a food supply for the embryo
What is concentration?
HOW MUCH of one substance is in another substance.
What does the flower/cone do?
It reproduces
What is diffusion?
Movement of particles from an area of HIGH CONCENTRATION to an area of LOW CONCENTRATION
What does the stem do?
It provides a pathway or movement for water and food while supporting the leaves and reproductive structures.
What is osmosis?
Osmosis is very similar to diffusion, but the substance that is being moved is WATER, which is moving through a SEMIPERMEABLE MEMBRANE
What role does a leaf play in a plant?
Produces food for the plant/ takes in carbon dioxide and releases oxygen/ allows water to exit the plant
What is capillary action?
Water travels up the plant, through the stem
What do the roots do?
Absorbs water and dissolves nutrients while anchoring the plant in the soil
What is transpiration?
The process that allows water to evaporate from the surface of the plant
