MEIOSIS VS MITOSIS
100

Who worked with pea plants

Gregor Mendel

100

Who discovered the cell?

Robert Hooke

100

What does 10X mean?

Low Power

100

What do you do in NGSS

Observe, ask questions, explain in a paragraph about your observation

100

What happens if there is to much mitosis?

Cancer

200

What were some traits Mendel discovered while observing the pea plant? (list 3)

Flower color, pod shape, pea color, plant height, etc.

200

How many types of cells are there? What are they?

2, Eukaryotic and Prokaryotic

200

How do you move a microscope? How do you put it back to place after using it?

Grab the microscopes arm, hold the bottom of the microscope, and move it to the lab table.

If you want to return it, and you used electricity to light the lamp, wrap the wires around the microscope, then put it's cover back onto it, then move it back to its original place.

200

What kind of questions do you ask in NGSS?

Open ended questions.

200

How many stages does mitosis have?

4 stages including cytokinesis

300

What is self pollination?

The act of pollen blown away or transferred to the stigma of the same flower. (In bisexual flowers)

300

What differs between a eukaryotic and prokaryotic cell?

A eukaryotic cell has an advanced system, it has a nucleus and nucleolus

A prokaryotic cell has a simple system, it has a flagellum, and a nucleoid.

300

Can you use coarse focus in 40x?

No,You can only use fine focus

300

NGSS is used for learning and observing new things

TRUE?

OR

FALSE?

True

300

What are the names of the stages of Mitosis? (excluding cytokinesis)

prophase, metaphase, anaphase, telophase

400

What is a phenotype? (Use the scientific terms/words)

Homozygous and Heterozygous

400

What does prokaryotes mean?

Cells that are less advanced

400

What is a microscope used for?

Observing the microscopic world.
400

Name 1 lesson we did NGSS in

Meiosis vs Mitosis, granulocyte killing plant cell, etc.

400

What does Meiosis use?

Reproductive cells

500

What is a heterozygous trait also known as?

Hybrid trait

500

Think about your old lessons: What does "cyte" mean in granulocyte?  For double points: what did granulocytes do when we observed it?

Cell

For double points: It kills cancer cells

500
(BONUS QUESTION) what reflection do you see in ink while observing it in a microscope?

A reflection of a rainbow.

500

In NGSS, what does the first "s" stand for? (BONUS QUESTION)

Hint "Starts with s and c"

Science

500

What differs between Mitosis and Meiosis (list 2 differences)

More stages

Different actions in stages
