If you’re goofing around, and not taking things seriously, then you could cause problems for the whole group, and you could cause accidents that could have been avoided.
What should you do if a fire breaks out during a practical?
Know where the fire extinguisher and fire blankets are, turn all gasses off, and other electrical equipment. Follow all instructions.

What safety precautions can I take if I need to heat up a test tube?
Never heat a capped test tube, point it away from everyone, never hold it in your bare hands (use a test tube holder and heat proof glove) and place it in a test tube rack when finished.
Why should you wash your hands after performing an experiment, & cleaning up?
If you touch your face after using chemicals without washing, you could have a bad reaction. You should clean up after, because if someone comes in contact with unclean dangerous chemicals, it could be hazardous for them also.

Immediately flush with running water from the eye wash station for at least 20 minutes and notify the Teacher or Lab Tech immediately.

It should be on the yellow flame or it should be off
What do I do if I haven’t finished my experiment and the Teacher starts speaking to me?
Turn the Bunsen burner to yellow flame, have all things out of my hands (make sure they’re safe), stop and listen carefully. Follow all instructions.
