Get one out and plug in your laptop to the outlet closest to your seat - you do not need to ask Ms. Hyatt for a charger!
When is the only time that you should touch the eye wash station in the back of the classroom?
If we are working with dangerous chemicals, and you get some in your eyes
P.S. Ms. Hyatt will move the curtain if we are doing a lab where this could happen
What should you do if you want to use the bathroom while you're in science?
Make an E-Hall pass, make eye contact with Ms. Hyatt, and point at your laptop. If she doesn't see you or make eye contact, raise your hand!

Can you earn a Lynx Buck by winning a Blooket game in science?
Yes and No - everyone who participates can earn candy or a Lynx Buck but the winner doesn't get something special
What is something that Ms. Hyatt needs to be cautious of?
Items on the floor or cords that are long - Ms. Hyatt trips a lot!
What should you do if you need headphones or earbuds?
Get them - you do not need to ask Ms. Hyatt
P.S. please don't have them in while she is giving directions but they are always okay during chill independent work time

- If everyone is on task and working
- If everyone completes an assignment and turns it in
- If everyone writes in their planner
- If everyone meets our class goal on an 80% grade
What is something that Ms. Hyatt needs help keeping track of?
- her water bottle
- papers that she has started passing out and set down somewhere random in the classroom
What should you do if you need a pencil?
Get one - you do not need to ask Ms. Hyatt

Can you bring snacks or eat food in Ms. Hyatt's classroom?
Yes - unless we are doing a lab or experiment that makes food a bad idea
What should you do if you need to go to the counselors, Mrs. Hazell, or the nurse while you're in science?
Ask Ms. Hyatt - depending on the situation, she might ask you to wait, or she can make you a pass
P.S. The one person at a time limit does not apply if the counselor/nurse situation is urgent

P.S. If you are goign to be asked to use them for a science assignment, they will already be at your spot!
Can I have my cell phone, AirPods, or a smart watch in science class?
No - you can't have these items in any classes at Lakeview
What should you do if you want to go see another teacher while you're in science?
Ask Ms. Hyatt. She will contact the other teacher to see if it's okay before she makes you a pass.
If I ask Ms. Hyatt for candy, will she give it to me?
No. It decreases the chance that you will earn candy in class that day - because now she's annoyed.
What is something that annoys Ms. Hyatt?
- people worrying about other people's business when it doesn't affect them
- people yelling when it's not an emergency
- people taking her stuff and not giving it/putting it back
- people snapping at her to get her attention
- being blamed for something that isn't her fault
What classroom supplies do you need permission to use?
Scissors, glue, rulers, and yardsticks
P.S. Anything in the cabinets are off limits unless Ms. Hyatt asks you to get something from them
Can you copy off someone else's work or use AI to do your work for you?
Copying someone else's work - no.
Using AI to do your work - no.
If you want to use AI to help brainstorm or to help start a larger task, ask Ms. Hyatt about how you want to use it before you start to avoid getting in trouble.
How long can you be out of the classroom before Ms. Hyatt will call the office to look for you?
10 minutes - if you are with the counselor or in the nurse, and they accept your pass, this rule does not apply
What happens if someone steals candy or Lynx Bucks from Ms. Hyatt?
Candy - Ms. Hyatt doesn't buy any more candy for at least a month.
Lynx Bucks - Ms. Hyatt will deduct the amount that you stole + interest
What is something that makes Ms. Hyatt angry?
- people using words or phrases that upset or offend other people (especially words that are meant to insult someone's race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, etc.)
- people hurting other people or touching them without their consent
- people making it impossible for everyone else to learn
