A team of scientists want to test if watching commercials makes kids eat more snacks when watching TV.  They gather two groups of elementary school students.  The first group watches 2 hours of TV with no food commercials.  The second group watches 2 hours of TV with food commercials every 15 minutes.  After the scientists record how many goldfish the students ate during the time period.

List the independent variable, dependent variable, control group, and experimental group.

IV = whether or not kids watch food commercials

DV = amount of goldfish eaten

Control group = group without food commercials

Experimental group = group with food commercials
