A Scout tells the truth. He keeps his promises. Honesty is part of his code of conduct. People can depend on him.

What is an oath?
As an American, I will do my best to—
Be clean in my outdoor manners.
Be careful with fire.
Be considerate in the outdoors.
Be conservation-minded.
What is The Outdoor Code?
It is the only badge earned in Cub Scouts that may be worn on the Scouts BSA uniform.
What is Arrow of Light?
It is the camp we go to for our cabin trip in December and summer camp in July.
What is Camp Sequassen?
A Scout looks for the bright side of things. He does tasks that come his way without complaint. He tries to make others happy.
What is Cheerful?
I will be faith filled and support the United States and follow the Scout Law.
What is To do my duty to God and my country
and to obey the Scout Law;
I will treat the outdoors as a heritage. I will take care of it for myself and others. I will keep my trash and garbage out of lakes, streams, fields, woods, and roadways.
What is I will be clean in my outdoor manners?
It is the only rank in Scouts BSA that does NOT require you to have a Board of Review.
What is Scout?
We are all part of the same council, even those of us who are NOT Yankee fans.
What is the Connecticut Yankee Council?
A Scout is true to his family, Scout leaders, friends, school, and nation.
What is Loyal?
To assist others whenever they need it.
What is, To help other people at all times;
I will prevent wildfire. I will build my fires only when and where they are appropriate. When I have finished using a fire, I will make sure it is cold out. I will leave a clean fire ring, or remove all evidence of my fire.
What is I will be careful with fire?
Once you earn this rank, you can only advance if you hold a leadership position AND earn some Merit Badges.
What is First Class Scout?
It's the tallest peak in Connecticut. Some of our Scouts have climbed it.
What is Bear Mountain?
A Scout is respectful toward God if he believes in God. He is faithful in his religious life if his family practices a faith. He respects the beliefs of others. He is humble about his place in the universe.
What is Reverent?
To be fit, pay attention, and exercise good moral decisions.
What is "To keep myself physically strong,
mentally awake, and morally straight."
I will treat public and private property with respect. I will follow the principles of Leave No Trace for all outdoor activities.
What is I will be considerate in the outdoors?
You must earn 21 to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout, but you have a lot of choices about which ones.
What are Merit Badges?
It's the first knot you generally learn in Scouting and you find it on a lot of our patches and badges.
What is a square knot?
A Scout works to pay his way and to help others. He saves for unforeseen needs. He protects and conserves natural resources. He carefully uses time and property.
What is Thrifty?
I promise to try my hardest...
What is, On my honor I will do my best...
I will learn about and practice good conservation of soil, waters, forests, minerals, grasslands, wildlife, and energy. I will urge others to do the same.
What is, I will be conservation minded?
It is the only rank that requires that the Board of Review NOT be conducted by our Troop. You have to go to the Connecticut Yankee Council.
What is Eagle Scout?
You can cook a lot of great meals in it, but you would never bring it on a backpacking trip.
