  • Point out Taft Hall as you pass by it, and explain that it is home to the Talent Development Program which serves Rhode Island high school graduates with college potential who come from underrepresented or underserved communities. TD Scholars take part in a summer intensive session before the start of their first-year.


    • Elaborate on TD’s history, explaining that it has been around for 58 years, and that in 2025, the program reached 5,000 graduates.

    • Many of its participants refer to it as “TD Nation” as their connection to this program is so strong.

    • Being a part of the TD program also means that you get access to additional advisors and resources to support you during your time at URI.
