Parents involvement in ship outings
Parents are welcome and invited to attend Ship activities and outings. There is always a need for your support
The official uniform consist of
(What is) An Official Navy Blue shirt, Tar Flap, Navy blue Dickies pant (either cargo or straight leg), Black socks, Sea Scout belt or riggers belt, and Sea Scout ball cap. (Recommend black shoes)
Planning meeting
The Quarterdeck with meet monthly on the 1st Tuesday potentially from 6:30-8
A boat is required for Sea Scout Ships and is the only way Sea Scouts can go on outings.
Incorrect. A Sea Scout Ship can utilize Sail Boats, Motor Boats, Paddle Craft, White Water rafting, Tubing or Scuba diving. Sea Scouts aim to adventure in, on, around and under the water.

Parents and the Bridge of Honor
We will have a Bridge of Honor to present Rank Advancement and Awards to the Scout regularly throughout the year. It is less fun to be recognized without your family to support you. We ask that Parents make every effort to attend the Bridge of Honor ceremony when it occurs.
Ship uniforms are purchased
Serving as Activity Chair
Planning and executing as the chair of an Activity or Cruise is a requirement for rank advancement. Each scout will have the opportunity to grow their leadership as they plan and carry out activities for the ship or crew.

What is Scout Book
Scout Book is the advancement platform used to track your Scout's progress. It also has a calendar with RSVP function for events and activities. The goal is for parents to be actively engaged in Scout Book! We can do a parents class on how to get the most out of Scout Book if you'd like and that would be helpful.
PFD is part of your uniform
A PFD thought not technically a part of the official uniform will be required part of your attire on many outing and you are encouraged to get one that fits you well, you like and won't mind wearing. Good water shoes will also recommended.
Cruising and Long Cruise
Each Scout has the potential to earn the Long Cruise Badge, it is required to obtain the rank of Able. To earn a Long Cruise Badge each Scout must Cruise for a total of 14 Nights. These no longer have to be consecutive nights, but can be a combination of weekend and week long cruises.

Your Involvement
You can be as involved as you need/want to be, but what we would like to communicate is that we really do need you! Parents make up the Officer Mentors, committee members, the support, transportation and cheerleaders of your scouts. We hope that you will choose to be involved!
Dress Uniform
With the introduction of the New Century Uniform the Dress and Working uniform have been combined into one all around uniform. We may however choose to incorporate a Dixie Cup hat as part of a Dress Standard for Special Occasions like a Bridge of Honor and other High Profile times. It is up to you.
Sea Scouts are limited on what they can do for a cruise
The options are amazing! They can go scuba diving, sailing, white water, water ski or wake board, tubing or kayak, Stand up paddle board etc. We have some cool camps dedicated to water... Sea Base in FL., Swamp Base in LA., or Aqua Base in KY
