Explain what the buddy system is

The buddy system is when you are in groups so that you can ensure everyone's safety. The scouts are at a minimum of two per group.

The buddy system is a way to ensure everyone's safety. If you are in a camp, it is important to use buddy systems in case of emergencies. During swimming, it is important to have a buddy in the same ability group so they can help you in case of emergencies.

Why is it important to stay fit

It is important to stay fit so you can be healthy and you can be physically and mentally capable of any challenges or obstacles you may face in the future. It also does not only mean physically fit but it means mentally and ethically fit. Every time you recite the scout oath, you say that you will be "Physically Strong, Mentally Awake, and Morally straight"

It is important to stay drug-free because in the long term drugs can affect your health. They can cause cancer and in worth cases death. In the scout oath, it says that a scout will "Keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight" In the Scout Law it says that a scout is: "clean"

You should use this method when you need to rescue someone from the water

Reach- you should reach out with your hand, an object, etc

Throw- Throw a floatable device that they can use to hang on

Row- When in a lake or river, if the victim is too far away, then go save them by rowing there in a boat

Go- Swim to the victim to go save them yourself. This should always be your last resort. Make sure to remain calm
