Who can request an amendment to a regional flood plan?
The RFPG or a Political Subdivision in the FPR may request an RFPG to consider an amendment to an adopted RFP based on changed conditions or new information. An RFPG must formally consider such request within 180 days after its receipt and shall amend its adopted RFP if it determines an amendment is warranted.

If good faith effort fails, The EA may use the following process to address the issue:
(1) notify the affected RFPGs of the nature of the potential negative effect;
(2) request affected RFPGs appoint a representative or representatives authorized to negotiate on behalf of the RFPG and notify the EA in writing of the appointment; and
(3) assist in negotiating resolutions of the issue with RFPGs.

What happens if a local municipality/political subdivision is not satisfied by an RFPG decision in an RFP?
The local municipality/political subdivision can file a petition with the EA to request a review of the RFPG decision and consider the amendment to the approved RFP.
What are the exemptions to the 1.0 square mile minimum for FMSs and FMPs?
critical facilities or transportation routes or for other reasons, including levels of risk or project size, as determined by the RFPG
What is the relationship between Regional Flood Plans, the State Flood Plan, and the FIF Intended Use Plan?
RFP data is used to inform the SFP. Ranking criteria and methods anticipated to be used in the draft State Flood Plan will play a role in the upcoming iteration of the Flood Infrastructure Fund Intended Use Plan (2024-2025 FIUP). The iteration of a project ranking used for the 2024-2025 FIUP, and any related funding prioritization decisions, will occur independently under separate processes specifically associated with that FIF funding program cycle.
What is the definition of a Political Subdivision?
A county, city, or other body politic or corporate of the state, inclduing any district or authority created under Article III, Section 52 or Article XVI, Section 59 of the Texas Constitution and including any intersate compact commision to which the state is a party and any nonprofit water supply coproration created and operated under Chapter 67.
