Describe the Robbery Procedures
During Robbery Procedures & Proper Employee Conduct
• Avoid actions that might increase the danger to yourself and others. TAKE NO RISKS!
• Remain calm! A robber will rarely harm anyone unless you resist or provoke him/her.
• Give the robber(s) whatever they ask for.
• During the robbery, do not answer the phone unless instructed to do so, by the robber(s).
• Observe the robber's physical features such as height, weight, complexion, voice, accent or mannerisms. Note their dress, type of weapon and any other characteristics that would be useful for identification purposes (i.e. tattoos, piercings, scars, etc.).
• As the robber exits the branch, try and note how tall he is by comparing his height to the red 6-foot marker on the door jam.
• Activate the robbery alarm and surveillance systems when the robber is leaving, gone or when it can be done safely.
• Retain any evidence (such as a note) that the robber
leaves, only if it can be done safely. Do not handle unnecessarily.
• Keep anyone from touching articles or places that the robber may have touched so that fingerprints may be obtained. Try and block off the area(s) from any other contact.
