A mortal sin is when you break anyone of the 10 commandments, you can only fix it if you go to confession. A venial sinks a less serious sin that can be fixed if you pray to Jesus and ask him to forgive the venial sins.

Commandment 4: Honor your mother and father. This means to respect and honor, be graceful to your parents. Do anything Your parents ask you, never disrespect. Commandment 5: You shall not kill.This means not to kill people in general or kill someone's spirit. This also includes bullying, because they break your spirit mentally.
